This kit is designed to turn the OEM FK8 shifter into a finely tuned piece of machinery. The short throw adapter helps to reduce both gear throw (forward/back motion) while stiffening up gear engagement feel. The shift cable bushings and shifter base bushings help to remove unwanted compliance from OEM rubber bushings to help remove flex while improving tactile feel. The upgraded centering spring helps to make quicken centering action for a snappier feel  while removing unwanted lateral play while in gear or in neutral.  Consider adding a shift knob or shift boot collar to further customize the look and feel of your shifter.  Add the interior panel removal tools if you'd like some added protection against damaging interior panels during installation.

Note that use of a flat-bottomed knob on an FK8 requires use of an aftermarket shift boot collar (like the one sold below) to have the shift boot clip to the bottom of the knob properly. This is due in-part to the unusual design of the underside of the stock FK8 shift knob.

More About This Kit

Bundle and save! If you're in search of a bit more refinement than our Stage 1 kit can offer, then this Stage 2 kit may be right up your alley. This kit includes our Shifter Rocker Upgrade (1922), Shifter Centering Spring Upgrade (1918), Shifter Base Bushings (1914), and Shift Linkage Bushing Upgrade (1881). After installing this kit, you should notice a substantial change in shifting feel. Expect narrower gates,a substantial reduction in that "mushy" feeling at the end of shifts, as well as snappier centering action. Add an ESCO or POCO shift knob or boot collar to further customize the look and feel of your shifting setup. Please note that use of the ESCO knob on the Sport or CTR model may result in improper fitment of the shift boot under the shift knob. This can be corrected using one of our 1924 Boot Collar Upgrade kits.
